Shakespeare's Globe on Tour at Storrs Hall: 14th - 17th August 2012

Storrs Hall offers an extraordinary setting on the shores of Lake Windermere for a very special event as part of the Shakespeare's Globe national tour. There are three early evening performances this summer beginning Tuesday 14th August 2012.

'Hamlet'

Learning of the king his father’s death, Hamlet comes home to find his uncle married to his mother and installed on the Danish throne. At night, the ghost of the old king demands that Hamlet avenge his ‘foul and most unnatural murder’..

Hamlet encompasses political intrigue and sexual obsession, philosophical reflection and violent action, tragic depth and wild humour.

Lasting only two-and-a-half hours at the Globe or when touring with an Elizabethan-style stage, a handful of players will perform a raw, thrillingly elemental production of this inexhaustible play.

• 18.00 - Grounds open for non-package ticket holders (tickets only).

• 19.30 - Start performance.
• Interval and afterwards, bar open (and weather permitting outside).
• Hot and cold drinks available in the grounds, as well as ice cream, hot and cold snacks.

Disabled access & parking

Disabled access & parking, please make note with each specific booking, incl. contact details and car details. If no pre-warning has been given on specific park requirements at the time of reserving tickets, reserved spaces can not be guaranteed on the day. Spaces are limited and drop-off only may apply. Some of the paths leading to the performance and the performance grounds are not hard surfaces (grass and gravel).

General Information

The plays will go ahead in all but most extreme weather conditions. Once the play is 20 minutes or more into its performance, and it has to be abandoned, no refunds will apply. Re-scheduling may apply within the Storrs dates, subject to availability.
